Wie einige von euch vielleicht wissen bin ich riesiger Olivia Palermo Fan! Für mich ist das Typische an ihrem Style der unglaublich tolle Muster Mix. Tjaaa... und so dachte ich heute ich versuche das auch mal ein bisschen und kombiniere einen Rock in Leo-Muster zu einer gemusterten Jacke. Ich habe extra darauf geachtet in der gleichen Farbfamilie zu bleiben, damit es nicht zu viel wirkt. :) 

Puh, erst auf den Bildern fällt mir auf wie müde ich aussehe! Im Moment habe ich extrem viel zu tun: 5 Klausuren, Umzug und weitere Bewerbungen... 

ABER: jetzt habe ich endlich meine letzte Bachelor-Klausur hinter mir!! :D 

Ich bin soooo aufgeregt!! :D 

As many of you may know, I'm a big fan of Olivia Palermo! For me she is the queen of pattern mixtures... well, now I had to try it myself and that's the result. I combined a leo-skirt and a black and white jacket and really tried to stay in the same color shade. 

Now that I see the pictures, I realize how tired I look.... but at the moment I have a lot going on: 5 exams, moving and interviews... 

BUT: Now I just finished my last bachelor-exam!! :D 

I'm so excited!! :D 

Fashion History - The Trenchcoat

The Trenchcoat

Der Trenchcoat ist eines der bekanntesten Kleidungsstücke der Welt und vor allem im deutschen Sommer darf er nicht fehlen. 

Aber woher kommt der Trenchcoat? 

Erfunden wurde er von Thomas Burberry Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts. Mit der Erfindung des Stoffes Gabardine begann die Geschichte des beliebten Mantels. Für die britische und französische Armee wurde der Mantel im ersten Weltkrieg designed. Die D-Ringe waren ideal um Granaten dort zu befestigen und die Schulterriemen dienten zum Schutz vor Gewehrläufen. 

Nach dem Krieg gefiel der Mantel den Soldaten so gut, dass sie ihn in ihre Alltagskleidung übernahmen und so beliebt machten. 

Humphrey Bogart trug den Mantel in seinem Film "Casablanca" und Audrey Hepburn trug den Mantel als Holly Golightly in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". Dadurch wurde der Mantel salonfähig. 

Heute gibt es den Mantel in allen Farben und Stoffen. Der klassische Trenchcoat ist jedoch kamelfarbend und sieht heute noch genauso aus wie vor 100 Jahren.

The trench coat is one of the most famous fashion pieces existing and especially during the German summer indispensable. 

But where does it come from? 

Thomas Burberry invented the trench coat during the late 19th century. It all started with the invention of the gabardine. He designed the coat for the british and french army during the World War I. The D-rings were perfect to attach grenades at it and the shoulder straps protected the soldiers from their barrels. 

After the war the soldiers liked the coat so much, that they integrated it in their daily robe. 

Humphrey Bogart wore the coat in his movie "Casablanca", while Audrey Hepburn wore it in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". So the coat became socially accepted. 

Today the coat is available in every color and every textile. But the classic trench coat has a camel tone and looks just like it did 100 years ago. 

In love with Hamburg!

Wow Hamburg war wunderschön! Ich muss sagen, dass ich mich schon ein bisschen in die Stadt verliebt habe. Es gibt alles was das Herz begehrt: Meer/Fluss, ein schickes Viertel und ein chilliges Viertel (Schanzenviertel) und sooooo viele Shoppingmöglichkeiten!  

Es gibt unglaublich viele schöne Cafés und die Leute sind auch super lieb :) 

Einen Trip nach Hamburg kann ich euch also nur empfehlen :D

In den nächsten Wochen versuche ich wieder etwas mehr zu posten, aber im Moment bin ich voll in der Klausurenphase und ihr wisst sicherlich wie viel Stress das ist ;(

Über meinen Geburtstag haben mein Freund und ich endlich mein Geburtstagsgeschenk des letzten Jahres eingelöst und sind nach Hamburg gefahren um das "König der Löwen" - Musical zu schauen. Leider war es am ersten Tag etwas grau in grau, aber so passte es ganz gut zu meiner Farbwahl ;) 

Es kommen natürlich auch noch Reisetipps für Hamburg :) 

For my birthday, my boyfriend and me traveled to Hamburg to see the "Lion King"- musical. 

Unfortunately, the first day was a little grey, but it fit my color decision ;)

Last BBQ of the summer

Summer days finally seem to be over and we have a traditional goodbye. Our neighborhood comes together for one last BBQ. We had some good south african white wine (honestly the best!) and perfect argentine steak! It has been a wonderful night and I already miss the long summer night... 

But autumn is coming up! :D 

Der Sommer scheint nun endgültig vorbei zu sein und wir feiern immer unsere traditionelle Abschiedsfeier. Die ganze Nachbarschaft kommt zusammen und wir veranstalten einen letzten Grillabend. Wir hatte super guten südafrikanischen Weißwein (kann ich nur empfehlen! der beste Weißwein!) und argentinisches Steak. Es war eine wundervolle Nacht und ich vermisse den Sommer jetzt schon... 

Aber der Herbst kommt (bzw. ist schon da)! :D
